Porsche’s flagship model, the 911 made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring a rear-engine and independent rear suspension, the two-door high performance sports car quickly became the best-selling model of its time.
The Targa, meaning shield in Italian, was introduced in 1967 as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had banned fully open convertibles in the US. Initially manufactured with a removable roof panel and plastic rear window, it later provided the option of a fixed glass window.
In 1978, the 3.0 litre 911 SC, which stands for Super Carrera replaced the 911 and Carrera models. Equipped with a turbo 2994 cc engine and a 915 five speed gearbox, it is able to reach speeds of 204 hp.
Superb and untouched, this 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa is in perfect driving condition, and a rare opportunity to acquire.
