The K1300S is a top-end sports motorcycle manufactured by BMW Motorrad and in production from 2008 to the present day. This model is a direct successor and highly upgraded replacement for the K1200S. The company’s objectives for the K1300S included better overall engine performance, transmission and drivetrain refinement, and improved handling.
Of particular note on this model is the powerful inline four-cylinder engine enlarged to 1293 cc displacement and rated at 175 hp. With a dry weight of only 254 kg, the K1300RS is capable of a 170 mph top speed. Stopping power is also an important feature on such a fast bike and this model features discs front and back, as well as the antilock feature as standard.
Also noteworthy on the K1300S are the optional extras, such as stability control, tire pressure monitor, electronic suspension adjustment and a shift assistant allowing for clutchless upshifting.
