This pristine example of the 450SEL represents a flagship luxury model produced by Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart from 1973 until 1980. New standard features to this series include all round anti-lock brakes, strengthened body structure and the fuel tank positioned above the rear axle for extra protection.
Powered by a fuel-injected 4517 cc V8 engine, the 450SEL produces 222 hp and is driven by a three-speed automatic providing rear-wheel drive. Its combination of high performance and exceptional ride quality made it perfect for high-speed cruising, as well as fine handling in faster corners.
The 450SEL incorporates the definitive and unmistakable styling of Friedrich Geiger, which would accompany Mercedes-Benz well into the 1980’s.
With a top speed of 130mph, this example features the six-inch longer wheelbase, which provides extra legroom for rear-seat passengers. Additional luxuries include leather upholstery, power sunroof, air conditioning and halogen headlights.
This SEL is located in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates as part of a vintage car collection.
