The Silver Wraith II was a variant of the luxurious Silver Shadow series of cars produced by Rolls Royce from 1965 to 1980. Standard features in these models were a monocoque chassis, disc brakes, independent rear suspension and a three or four-speed automatic transmission. The most innovative touch is a high-pressure hydraulic system, powering dual-circuit braking and a self-levelling suspension.
Since a Silver Shadow II was already in production when this new long-wheelbase model was being planned, Rolls Royce decided to name the newcomer the Silver Wraith II. A previous Silver Wraith had already existed until 1959. The elongated new model, now with an Everflex-covered roof, provided more leg room in the rear of the vehicle and was the preferred option for chauffeur-driven customers. Vehicles fitted with the electric division window between front and rear are particularly sought after by collectors today. This vehicle is housed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as part of a vintage car collection.
