The Eldorado was a long-running luxury model produced by the Cadillac division of General Motors from 1953 to 2002. The example presented here dates from the seventh generation of this particular model and comes in the two-door convertible configuration, and is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as part of a vintage car collection.
Standard features of this line include the 500 V8 engine rated at 190 hp and three-speed automatic transmission, as well as all the powered options, plus leather upholstery. The huge engine, specially developed for the Eldorado, was at the time the largest displacement unit ever used in a production car.
Most famously remembered for Cadillac’s billing at the time as ”the last American convertible,” sales in 1976, the last year of convertible production, skyrocketed for the ragtop Eldorado. Many investors and collectors rushed to buy up the last remaining examples, only for GM to reintroduce another convertible model a few years later.
