The Buick Estate Wagon is a long-running series of luxury and full-sized station wagons produced by General Motors between 1970 and 1990. The vintage 1976 model presented here represents the second generation of the Estate and boasts space for up to nine passengers as well as luggage capacity advertised at 105 cubic feet. This model was the largest wagon ever made by Buick.
Its configuration is five-door with a front-mounted engine delivering power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Powered by a 455 V8 engine, this heavyweight station wagon is rated at 205 hp. One special feature of note is the ‘glide-away’ powered tailgate, which allows easier access to the storage area.
Station wagons of this kind were largely targeted at middle class families who preferred to get away for weekends and vacations with sufficient storage capacity for all the camping and outdoors equipment necessary.
This Buick is housed in Dubai, UAE as part of a vintage car collection.
