The stunning Mercedes Benz 280SE 3.5 Convertible LHD was produced only for a short time, from 1969 to 1971. Initially launched in 1967, the 280SE which had a 2778 cc engine, was later upgraded with a new 3499 V8 unit, hence the 3.5 label. During its short production run, only 3,270 coupes and 1,232 cabriolets were built, making V8 models, such as this one very rare and highly collectible.
Skilfully engineered along with a 230 hp engine, this model is recognised as one of the fastest cars of its time. It is smooth in acceleration and has independent suspension, four-speed automatic transmission and all round hydraulic disc brakes.
Restored and mechanically rebuilt, this car has been beautifully painted and fitted with factory air conditioning, a new Sonnerland top as well as immaculate chrome and panel fittings.
