The 190 SL, produced from 1955 to 1963, is a two-door luxury roadster, also available at the time with an optional removable hardtop, of which only 25,881 in total were ever built.

It represented an attractive, more affordable option to the highly exclusiv2 300SL Gullwing, but did share the latter’s basic styling, detailing, engineering and fully-independent suspension. The term SL is an abbreviation for the German Sport Leicht, meaning Sport Lightweight.

This model is powered by an 1897 cc straight-four engine, fed by twin-choke dual Solex carburetors and has an output rated at 105 hp.

In 1962 alone, only 2,246 models were built, with about 772 going to the United States. Their rarity has been growing steadily, since, of the total number built throughout nearly a decade in production, it is estimated that only around 50% of these classics are believed to survive today.
This 1962 Mercedes is housed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as part of a vintage car collection.
