The 2000 Spider was a popular and relatively expensive two-door convertible when produced from 1958 to 1961, in which time a total of only 3,443 left the factory. This Alfa Romeo Spider Sport 2000 is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as part of a classic vintage car collection.
A pure two-seater, until a newer 2+2 model was introduced in 1961, the Spider was designed and manufactured by the legendary Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, a design house with a lengthy history of creating beautiful Alfa’s.
Of an understated yet highly stylish appearance, only dual hood scoops and decorative vents along the lower front fenders displayed signs of genuine panache.
Powered by a 115 hp inline four-cylinder 1975 cc engine, fed by twin Solex 44 PHH carburetors, the 2000 boasts a top speed of 107 mph.
The Spider is a comfortable cruiser, beautifully finished and equipped, with the added refinements of roll-up windows and a hood well sealed against the elements.
Of all the 2000-series variants exported to the U.S., the classic Spider version accounted for approximately 95 percent.
